Pleasant food, Good service, Loud music.
Vagabondo is a pretty good Pizza/pasta restaurant in a nice location in town. The food was above average for the area and well presented if the flavours weren't spectacular. The various courses we had were all consistent and tasted OK.
The place had loud music when we were there (10pm sitting, so pretty late) but the atmosphere was really good. We found a fairly quiet table and were able to talk, but please bear in mind that you might not be very easily heard, depending on where you sit.
The staff were attentive and pleasant and deserved their tip - I was happy with the service, in fact I really liked it.
I would definitely consider going back, it's not usual to find a good quality restaurant taking covers at 10pm (they close at midnight) and the atmosphere was fun. The food, as I said, is above average, but nothing to write home about.
We came in last night after the leafs game as we wanted somewhere to catch the end of the all star skills completion. We have always walked by the restaurant so we decided to check it out. The host told us they are playing the skills comp on tv so we decided to stay. We loved the environment and the music being played, the DJ was great all night. There was no sound for the game but we understood that it was more of a music vibe as everyone was having a great time. The video was streaming in and out a lot. Which made us a little upset as we missed certain parts of the event. We ordered the Margherita pizza which was good. We had no issues with the pizza. It was cooked perfectly . I wouldn't say the pizza was amazing but it wasn't bad. I definitely would try the pasta next time. I also ordered a coke. Unfortunately they did not offer refills which I felt was not fair but it's the business rules. I believe we were all good until the near the end of the dinner when the server took our plates and utensils away while I still had the pizza in my hand. I felt the server rushed us out and stoped caring about our table. This really made our great experience into an okay experience .
Love their huge portion. I had to come back to try more.
FOOD: big selection of pasta
• Tortellini: i'm in love with this. The pasta was stuffed with good amount of pork. The sauce is also really good.
• Pappardelle Funghi: another good one to recommend. Pasta was cooked to perfection, so fresh and not harden after some time like other places. Lots of chicken, I wish they put more sauce because we have a huge amount of pasta.
• Eggplant Parmigiana: the dish is so big I almost thought it's an entree. Lots of cheese and sauce, smells really good too.
• Arancini: my least favorite on the table. I personally would not recommend this as it's not as good as other stuff. And 3 rice balls could get you full before the main course.
• Tiramisu: the ladyfinger is a little hard and chewy, but the cream is delicious.
• Panna Cotta: much sweeter than I expected, I prefer the tiramisu.
SERVICE: great service, the 2nd time I came back I felt like the waiter I had kinda ignored me so I had to call another waiter to order food.
* If you and your friends're full, do not order more than one dessert, it's big.
VIBE: surrounded by glass window, the bar side will get very noisy like a small club after 10pm, but other than that the place has an elegant vibe.
Came here for casual dinner and was totally amazed by the food here. All dishes come with generous portions and our server was really friendly and attentive. Highly recommend it!
Lunch with friends at Vagabondo Restobar at Front & Blue Jay's Way.
We had a table with a huge window on Front Street, a people watcher's paradise with pedestrians hustling to or from Union Station.
We had the fresh made pasta after very enjoyable appetizers.
I had the amazing spaghetti Bolognaise, while others had the Veal Parm and a Pasta in a vodka sauce. (The vodka sauce may have been the flavour winner!)
All were prepared to perfection and made a wonderful lunch. Service is outstanding with friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. The kind of place one could easily spend the afternoon noshing and sipping...
Highly recommended for a business lunch or special occasion. Pics don't lie.
I recently celebrated my partner's birthday at Vagabondo on a Wednesday. The Fettuccine Alfredo was creamy and reasonably priced, though not the standout item on the menu. The Penne Lido, slightly pricier, was definitely worth it – delicious and good value. The must-try pizza, Canari, lived up to the recommendation. The attentive service was a highlight; the staff was hands-on, promptly fulfilling our requests without any wait. Overall, a pleasant experience with standout dishes and excellent service at Vagabondo.
Beautiful atmosphere when we first walked in, but the hosts seemed to be confused and in disarray even though we had made a reservation days prior to arriving. Nonetheless we were able to get our table with a few minutes of waiting and having them sort things out. The servers were extremely friendly. Starting with the calamari fritti was a good choice! The sauces it came with, lemon aioli and seafood sauce, were perfect and added so much value to the battered and fried squid which didn't have much flavour in itself. Both salmon dishes we ordered were the highlight of the night. Great portion of fish within the Fettuccine Al Salmone as the salmon was melted in to every bite of the cream sauce. Overall, good experience.
the service here is absolutely impeccable myself and family of 6 plus 2 kids were greeted and seated right away. The food delicious. The beverages made fresh. The ambiance was very relaxing. Just amazing all around. Here visiting from Florida and this has to be the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Our servers so sweet and all around awesome. There’s also a place to get a photo op at. Just 10/10
